SUNNY WITH A CHANCE OF CRAZY

Having a kid is like predicting the weather.  You can make a good guess on how a day or week might be, but that’s all it’ll be; a guess.  You can bring out the Doppler radar, analyze the infrared graphs and check the barometer.  You can plan your week, or day, around the evidence you’ve compiled, but you’ll most likely be wrong.  And be wrong for no reason.

BANNED

After my last trip to the grocery store with Ellie, I decided she was banned for awhile.  This was really disappointing because I really enjoyed grocery shopping with her.  But after two weeks in a row of her not cooperating, I had to do it.  BANNED until further notice.

Instead of doing the grocery shopping on Monday morning as usual, I did it Sunday evening.  This happens to be the worst time to go grocery shopping.  I find the only benefit of doing this was leaving Ellie at home.  But I’m not so sure it was even worth it.

A BABY, A BUGGY, AND A DAY OLD CUPCAKE

I don’t know what happened.  It started out like any other day.  We got up at the same time, we ate at the same time, and we left at the same time.  There were no problems.  It was grocery shopping day.  I’ve come to like grocery shopping with Ellie now.  Especially since she’s been riding shot gun in the buggy.  It’s like our special time.  She holds the grocery list and pen and I roll her around.  But I don’t know what happened that day.  The trip was so off I might as well have gone to Kroger.

MACY’S MONDAYS

I’m always on the look-out for different things to do with Ellie.  Especially during the winter.  I think both of us get sick of staring at each other waiting for the other one to do something entertaining.  I look at Ellie and think, peek-a-boo again?  Really?  Don’t you have any new tricks?  And Ellie’s probably looking at me thinking, “Twinkle Twinkle Litte Star?  Again?  You still don’t even know the right lyrics.  What else you got?”  But luckily one of the moms from story time recommended Macy’s Monday at the Henry Ford Museum.  Two hours of fun, games, and stories all within the context of giant airplanes, trains, and cars.  Sounded like a good time to me.
